If I were a feather, how many tips would I have? Would they be ruffled? Jagged? Broken? Or just frayed on the ends, waiting to break, split or splinter? Maybe even plucked and tossed to the sideā¦ just wanting to die. Perhaps they would mend themselvesā¦. With a good nights restā¦maybe notā¦could turn out to be one notorious nightmare after the other, enveloping each of life's experience's we want to forget. The mind is a powerful thingā¦Too much or too little that is the question. How do we ... VIEW POST

Tracey started eyelash pulling at 14
Has had some success by setting goals The eyelash pulling started shortly before a trip to Colorado and California with my older sister. She was 28, I was 14. She offered to take me to California if I would go with her to Colorado. It was a great idea, but I guess I was anxious about it. I have always loved the memory of that trip, and yet it was really scary. She didn't have a credit card so we couldn't rent a car. We had no planned itinerary and basically if I couldn't carry my own bag, ... VIEW POST

struggling to access trichotillomania treatment Hi. I'm Terri, 35 years old, from the USA. I believe I starting pulling from my scalp when I was approximately 20 years old. From this day, I still do not know what "triggered" this Trich. Many things have happened to me in life. Mostly abuse. Mentally/Physically. I remember when I was about 4 years old (yes, I remember it clear as day), that my oldest brother, was doing sexual "things" to me! Deep down inside I hated him ever since! I ... VIEW POST
Trichotillomania is a daily struggle
I have been struggling with Trichotillomania for years although I have never been diagnosed. I am 20 years old now and have been pulling my hair for about ten years. It is a daily struggle for me because when I look in the mirror I feel so ugly, but I can't stop pulling my hair out. Right now I have four huge bald spots, so I always keep my hair covered. Two of my bald spots have been there since about the third grade. I have come to a point where I know that I have to stop or ... VIEW POST
Sara copied a girl hair pulling at school
Sara was over-medicated I was 15, sitting in chemistry when I saw the girl in front of me pull out a hair and eat the end of it. I thought to myself "what is she doing?" At the end of class I went up to her and asked her if it hurt and she said "Nope, I like it, it makes me forget about things". So there I was, little miss Sara, sitting in front of my lighted mirror at home going through the strands of the back of my hair, feeling them. They were so course and nasty. I pulled one out. ... hair pulling at 11
Sandy started scalp pulling at 11 - At 43 she still can't tell her closest friends I believe I was around 10 or 11 years old when I first started pulling my hair. I can remember playing on a tyre swing and my hair got wound in the rope. The only way I could get free, was by pulling my hair out. It hurt really bad by doing that, but I tried unsuccessfully to get free without pulling my hair out. The next year I started school at a different location with ... VIEW POST
